The AP Just Dropped Its Top 100 College Football Programs Of All Time, Makes Me Irrationally Angry

Screen Shot 2016-08-02 at 4.07.06 PM

After Colin Cowherd spent an entire segment talking tiers like a bottom-feeding boner on an anonymous Greek rank message board trying to fill dead Summer air, the Associated Press has taken the historical college football polls a step further and released their own top 100 teams of all time.

WARNING: This trivial poll will leave you unreasonably irate. Maybe take this time to bolt down your laptop or make sure your phone is safely secured in a shock proof case. Now take a seat, finish any beverage currently in your mouth, and proceed with caution.

I’ll give you a moment to cool off.

Did your school not make the list? Oh, is it just me? I’m not mad. Not even a little bit. I mean who can forget powerhouse programs like Duquesne, Holy Cross, Santa Clara, and Bowling Green. They’re entirely deserving to be a top 100 program of all-time. Iowa Pre-Flight? Of course. Sure, they were only in existence for 3 years when about 7 teams were around, but fuck it, put ’em on. That’s totally fine. I’m fine. Everything is fine.

I guess UCF having the best winning percentage in BCS bowl history isn’t enough (1.000). I guess that Fiesta Bowl title just doesn’t hold the same prestige that it used to. Thanks for that, Battlefrog. I guess producing the likes of Daunte Culpepper, Brandon Marshall, Matt Prater, and future greatest quarterback and dude to ever walk the planet, Blake Bortles, just doesn’t get you close to sniffing the top 100.

How many Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl wins do you have, Duquesne? I bet you don’t even know what a Beef ‘O’ Brady’s is. But I’m not mad. I’m not mad at all. Just like last year’s 0-12 season, it’s a minor setback for a major comeback. In Scott Frost we trust…until he bolts for Nebraska.

I’m an Auburn fan, but there is no way ND and OSU should have above them. Also, I obviously feel like Auburn is way too low.

Exactly. You’re one AU fan I can tolerate. Congrats. That’s a big accomplishment.

“Top 100 College Football Programs of All Time” which is AP code for everything since 2000.

If that were true then Washington wouldnt be top 20. They have had an 0-12 season more recently than beating Oregon or going to a Rose Bowl.

Where’s UCF? I know they’ve been Orlando city champs for 5 years running.

I am making $89/hour working from home. I never thought that it was legitimate but my best friend is earning $10 thousand a month by working online, that was really surprising for me, she recommended me to try it. just try it out on the following website… http://bit.ly/2auLoBR

The AP made it known they used this to determine the order, geniuses:

To determine the all-time Top 25, the AP formula counted poll appearances (one point) to mark consistency, No. 1 rankings (two points) to acknowledge elite programs and gave a bonus for AP championships (10 points).

They only counted ap titles, and that lowers bama from 17 down to 10, which narrows the gap between them and OU, OSU, and ND. Also Alabama had a few more bad stretches than the other three where they weren’t ranked. It’s very close despite the AP’s BS ranking logarithm

How Miami isn’t Top 10 (or how the school up north is above them), and how Michigan isn’t Top 5 is sacrilege to college football.

Michigan’s problem is the last of national championships. Hard to put them above teams with 4+ championships

You also have to take into consideration during the Hayes-Schembechler Era that The Game had national championship implications, much like the UM-FSU game in the 80s…or the Iron Bowl, you have to factor in competition these teams faced. Much like an average SEC team still wipe-out 2/3 of the rest of the Power 5 teams.

Nebraska vs Oklahoma had more frequent national championship implications than Ohio State vs Michigan

Should be #1 with us having the most national championships in the world. This is some shit.

I don’t care that we’ll take laps for this, but Bama should be number 1 obviously.
