The Frattest Sports Movie Characters Part 2

Roy Hobbs

Roy Hobbs was destined for greatness. He was the whole package, blessed with all the natural ability a baseball player can ask for. He was also quite the ladies man, although it would later get him into trouble. He was set to dominate America’s pastime when some jealous sorostie shot him in his gut, almost ruining his career.

Hobbs is a great representation of the American dream, and he combined a blue collar mentality (whittling his bat “Wonderboy” out of wood) with superior genetics. He persevered against all odds, even when doctors suggested that playing baseball could lead to his early demise. He ended his turbulent career while fulfilling every young hetero kid’s fantasy – with a walkoff homerun to earn his team the pennant. Sparks from the shattered stadium lights rained down on Hobbs as he trotted around the bases.
