The Legend of The Crying Bama Fan

When Alabama and LSU met for the first time this season back on November 5, 2011, things didn’t go ‘Bama’s way. The Crimson Tide came out of the defensive standoff with a 6-9 overtime loss, all but shattering their hopes of a BCS National Championship bid. To make things even worse, a CBS cameraman captured this kid crying during overtime on national television.

The internet went wild as pictures and videos were posted on blogs and websites across the country. Since the teary-eyed individual appears to be with a hot blonde sorority girl, the picture obviously made the rounds through fraternity listservs and sorority chain-emails. The “Crying Bama Fan” (CBF) was born.

In a twist of fate, Alabama ended up with a shot at the National Championship and a rematch with LSU. When the matchup was confirmed, LSU Greeks created a “REAL GREEKS DON’T CRY” shirt complete with the picture of CBF and his alleged slam to reopen the wound before the faceoff.

When the two teams finally met again, 65 days after the 9-6 LSU victory, LSU fans got creative with a play on the famous Alabama chant “Roll Tide Roll.”

Before (and during) the game, pictures of LSU fans with CBF went viral online. They sought him out in New Orleans and took pictures with him and their “ROLL TEARS ROLL!!!” posters. Apparently he was a good sport about it, and that karma paid off. As Alabama completely smothered LSU the picture continued to be passed around with the caption “He gets the last laugh,” and as we all know, he truly did.

Oh yeah, and they found that hot blonde sorority girl, complete with Hand Grenade.

With a decisive 21-0 ass-pounding, Alabama and The Crying Bama fan got their redemption, and thus ends the legend of CBF.
