Being that guy in Intramurals who contributes nothing on defense and just stands in the corner and rains 3's. TFM.

Yea, no black guys dominate football and no minorities in baseball. I suppose you only watch competitive rowing and lacrosse.

Nothing against baseball, I just can’t ever get into it although I do like watching it live rather than on TV. I just prefer more fast paced sports and sports that require a lot more conditioning and strength.

Haze Em you are indeed black or a w.higger (white but thinks he’s black). Wasn’t the NBA season supposed to start already? Yes, and no one cares. It truly is African handball. The caliber of teamwork that football or baseball has isn’t needed and those Africans only need a year in college before going pro. Those protestors need to occupy the NBA and burn it down for all I care.

Baseball doesn’t require a massive amount of teamwork neither fucking retard. One person can hit home run after home run all by himself and can single-handedly win a game. When a team is pitching there are about two, maybe three passes and that’s if the other team even hits the ball. You are quite possibly the biggest moron and you probably have never played a sport that requires actual teamwork. Go back to playing your shitty sport.

True, no one gives a flying fuck about the NBA. The sport of basketball in general is a great American pastime. Also, come March Madness time we know what all you fucks will be watching.

Clearly he has never played baseball. And yea Kobe scoring 80 some points just shows how much teamwork basketball takes.

RHOTAU, Kobe might have scored 80 points, but his teammates had to dish the ball to him at the right moments, and many other factors. Plus, he scored 80 points because he’s a damn good player and he was on fire the whole game. If he’s playing that well why the fuck would you call him selfish, or say he’s not a team player. I’ve played baseball before, and I stopped as soon as the season ended. Standing around for 3 hours waiting for the ball to come your way, and when it does there is only about 8 seconds of action then goes back to sucking. Any fatass could play baseball. It requires no athletic ability other than being able to every now and then dive for a ball, or run fast enough to make it to a base.

      SouthernByGodsGrace,

I know this site is built for the majority of us to get our dick wet off of ignorance, but I can say without a doubt that that was the dumbest shit I have ever heard in my life. The caliber of teamwork in baseball overrides basketball’s? I’m a fan of baseball as well, but shut the fuck up. You, sir, are a dumbass

Saw this argument and remembered this quote. “You can’t sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You’ve got to throw the ball over the goddamn plate and give the other man his chance. That’s why baseball is the greatest game of them all.” – Earl Weaver

Fratatopia, in baseball men will get themselves out pretty much on purpose (by trying to bunt) just so that their teammate can get to another base. If getting yourself out and messing up your own stats for the good of the team isn’t teamwork, then I don’t know what it. There are plenty of other examples too. Any NBA team can do what the Celtics and Heat have done by trying to buy championships. There isn’t one bit of teamwork or love for the game that any of the African Handballers have.

Plus their shorts are capris. Fratatopia you sir are a black as well.

And KAppaorder brought up the best question on this thread. I don’t see Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson arguing that there isn’t enough white representation in the NBA. Damn I hate Mondays.

The funniest thing about this whole thread is that black people pretty much dominant in numbers for football as well, especially defense. You could easily call Football African handball.

SBGG, when a player bunts it does not “hurt his stats” dumbass. He gets a sacrifice hit added to them. A GOOD statistic. It does not hurt his batting average at all.

    17. Frattorney IV

A bunt still hurts the player because if he executes it he is 0/0 which doesn’t help him out and in affect is a waste of an at bat. But if he fucks it up its an 0/1 which is negative. So he either breaks even or hurts his stats not to mention losing possible rbis, hits, home runs etc. by losing the at bat.

I’m going to break down what this post really means.

“Being that guy in Intramurals who contributes nothing on defense and just stands in the corner and rains 3’s.”

The guy who doesn’t contribute anything on defense is always a pussy. He won’t dive on the ground for a loose ball, he doesn’t hold his own when an opponent tries to post him up. And worst of all, he leaves his teammates out to fucking dry.

If you really do have a knack for draining 3’s in the corner, any respectable opponent would guard you out to the perimeter and close out your shot. Therefore, the claim that you can make it rain 3’s from the same spot over and over just means that you’re a non-threat who everyone ignores on defense.

    1. fratanomics

Not to defend him, but there are many, many players in the NBA who make their living sucking at defense and hitting spot up 3’s. Guys like Jason Kapono, Mike Miller, and JJ Redick pretty much all fit the profile. He’s also not saying he starts and plays the entire game. He might be a zone buster. He might have the luxury of standing in the corner because his team is good enough that other teammates require constant double teams. I’ve seen teams that would have been hampered by a lot of movement on the offensive end by their long range threat. It’s not the b est basketball, but it can be devastating if a team doesn’t respect his shooting.

The guys you named are sharpshooters who happen to be limited athletically, (relative to other nba players). They try like hell on defense, Kapono and Reddick especially are pretty scrappy. But they’re guarding guys who are freak athletes so they still get beat to loose balls, give up a baseline drive, etc… This guy is in his own words “contributing nothing on defense” in intramural basketball. I hope you see the difference.

13 years ago at 4:15 pm
    3. fratanomics

Yeah they are scrappy. They still don’t “contribute” on defense. If their man blows them up when they’re on the court, they probably fit the same mold as the intramural sharpshooter. Just because you try doesn’t mean you try successfully.

13 years ago at 4:33 pm
    4. Dukie5440

That’s a little extreme. That’s like saying Redick, Kapono, Miller, just can’t get a stop ever and that’s not true at all. We’re basically saying the same thing, you just keep on wanting to make the extra little stretch that being a “below average defender” in the nba is not contributing to defense at all.

13 years ago at 7:49 pm
    5. fratanomics

Those three do get beat 1 v 1 on almost every time. That’s why team defense and help-side defenders exist. They are some of the worst defenders in the league. They are the NBA equivalent of the “no defense” 3 pt shooter in intramurals. That’s not debatable. Obviously they might have been better at lower level of competitions, but you have to compare them based on their relative skill level/pay grade. They do not measure up.
