Tom Brokaw Takes Cheap Shot At University Of Alabama’s Intelligence During Ole Miss Commencement
Former NBC Nightly News anchor and current NBC News special correspondent Tom Brokaw had the honor of giving the University of Mississippi students their annual commencement speech this past Saturday. Would Brokaw go the more serious route like Admiral McRaven did at the University of Texas two years ago? Maybe Tom would follow in George W. Bush’s footsteps by cracking some light hearted jokes when killing his speech at SMU last year.
Instead, Brokaw decided to play to the crowd and make some jokes about Alabama’s intelligence.
Tom Brokaw at #OleMiss commencement: "If I was speaking at Alabama's commencement, I'd have to use smaller words and shorter sentences."

Personally, I’m usually all for bashing the intelligence level of Alabama students. But I went to SMU, which is a better academic school, so I can chirp at them for it. Ole Miss falls below Alabama by quite a bit on the US News rankings for the best colleges in America. So they may want to pump the brakes a little when going after their academics.

Get some better material, Brokaw..
