Trump Says Dad Always Told Him No, Only Gave Him $1 Million To Start Career

Say what you will about Donald Trump, but the man is no stranger to adversity. He’s been told no his whole life, including at the start of his career, when his father only gave him a measly $1 million.

From Politico:

“Oh many times. I’ve been told no by him. My whole life, really has been a no,” the Republican presidential candidate said during a town hall event in Atkinson, New Hampshire, on NBC’s “Today.”

“It has not been easy for me. It has not been easy for me. I started off in Brooklyn. My father gave me a small loan of a million dollars,” Trump remarked. “I came into Manhattan, and I had to pay him back, and I had to pay him back with interest. But I came into Manhattan and I started buying properties, and I did great.”

That’s what you call pulling yourself up by the bootstraps. If this story doesn’t inspire you to never give up, then I don’t know what will. Put it right up there alongside Michael Jordan and the Australian dude with no arms or legs.

Cue the black-and-white video of Trump walking down the street, his whispy combover blowing in the wind, rain dripping down his puckered lips.

“Nothing in this world is handed to you. My whole life people have been telling me no… I told daddy I wanted to go to Italy for my birthday. Do you know where we went instead? Mexico.”

I’m not saying the guy doesn’t deserve his wealth or that he skated into success with zero business ingenuity, but let’s get real. Dude’s life is far from the hard luck story he tries to make it in this interview. He also left out the millions he inherited.

Implying you’re self-made despite dad paying for everything. TFM.

Who honestly cares? Why does it matter that his dad helped him start a business? He payed the dude back, with interest. Who cares.

Looking negatively at someone that takes a $1,000,000 loan from family and pays it back with interest, but looking positively at someone that takes a 1,000,000 from the government in entitlements and never pays taxes. TDemM.

To be fair nobody is getting a million dollars worth of government aid, and $1 million in private start-up funds as well as the education and family connections Trump had are a huge leg-up in the business world.

From “head start” to high school is probably roughly $100k. Add on welfare and other assistance for the next 50 years, that’s probably another $500k, assuming you’re not in prison, which is another couple hundred grand. It’s not hard to get to a million dollars…

Individuals no, but left-wing companies yes. “Green” energy companies get millions in government subsidies even though that shit is a scam. Solyndra pissed away $536M in taxpayer money in less than two years. Fuck those assholes.

God what has happened to this site. Criticizing someone for being born wealthy and with family connections. Every other TFM used to be like that back in the day. This site PCed so much.

Secondly-Yes Donald Trump was born with a huge head start. But so are thousands of other kids many of whom have nothing to show for it except and nice house and benz. Trump took advantage of his situation and became one of the most successful and powerful people in the world. Look at Dan Blizerain this site jerks him off when hes just a trust fun kid paying escorts to fuck him and inflate his ego by taking pictures on instagram with him. Yet attack Trump cause he got a head start in the business world? Lastly discrediting someone because they were born with a head start is exactly what the liberals try to do to us when they tell us to check our privlege and stuff like that. END RANT

Calling out trump for being an asshat isn’t a liberal thing. It’s a smart republican thing

This site panders to democratic cuck-servatives. Just read any article remotely about politics and tell me I’m wrong.

He doesn’t have any. You get a hundred companies going and see if they all make it. Keep in mind that a single property and the holding company for that single property can and typically are two different companies.

I don’t think people understand the idea of bankruptcies, considering he only did it to protect his assets.

Well, I’ve seen exec boards bounce checks to bars, hotels where formals were hosted, and one have a hole in the side of its house for 2 years despite being the “rich fraternity”.
So let’s not pretend everyone has the responsibility to do what Trump did with a million dollars.
