Twitter Throws A “Frat House” Party And I’m Deeply Offended

Yesterday, the tech nerds over at Twitter threw an internal “frat house” themed happy hour and they’re starting to catch some heat for it. Rightfully so. Personally, I’m livid at such narrow-mindedness. I don’t want justice. I NEED it. Fire up the outrage machine. These overprivileged Silicon Valley pricks stereotyping fraternity culture is appalling. Heads have to roll. Shut it down. Shut the whole damn company down.

I refuse to believe these animals can be so tone-deaf. It’s 2015 after all! They were being offensive for the sake of being offensive. Beer pong? Red Solo cups? PBR? These are all images and common clichés that are harmful to the growth of my people as a whole and pigeonhole us in a negative light.

A spokesperson for Twitter, Jim Prosser, issued this apology after.

From Fusion:

“This social event organized by one team was in poor taste at best, and not reflective of the culture we are building here at Twitter,” Prosser said. “We’ve had discussions internally with the organizing team, and they recognize that this theme was ill-chosen.”

Apology not accepted, Jim. Someone has to pay for this bigotry — that, or something completely unrelated has to happen in the next few days. If I have anything else to direct all my anger towards, I’ll move on and forget about this altogether. But hey, that’s just the life of a social justice warrior.

Whoever strung those red solos together has way too much too much time on their hands.

as long as they have a better intern than the one for TFM. Wouldn’t trust that broken condom accident with anything.

Considering it got done before the deadline and tons of trash didn’t get hung up with it, their intern it’s better.

The hashtag “brogrammers” might just be the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.

I thought social justice came in the form of vandalizing buildings, sabotaging vehicles, looting nearby locations, and just trashing the community in general? Eg.: Ferguson, OK Chant, Baltimore, etc.

Yes because when it comes to my emotional frustration the rules and the rights of others don’t apply to me.

A Twitter CEO doesn’t get filed under “famous Greeks” for a lot us I guess. Maybe it wasn’t part of the joke after all.
