The south was outnumbered in congress and feared they would become a voiceless minority. Look at the actual facts of the story before you try and sound smart.

Outer Atlanta is some of the richest parts of the country. I’ll give you Miami, but South Florida is considered the North so that’s really the North’s to claim. Chattanooga is so random and unimportant I wouldn’t have even thought of it.
Detroit and Buffalo suck, but Pittsburgh is a pretty damn good city. If I may *AHEM* Forbes Magazine has recently ranked it as the #1 Most Liveable City in America, #1 Best Housing Market, and #13 Best City for Young Professionals. And, of course, they have the winningest football team in NFL history. The worst city I ever lived in was Augusta GA when I was in the Army stationed in Fort Gordon. Aside from the Masters, I think all Augusta is known for is having the highest percentage of HIV infected citizens.
