UMass Fraternity Investigated After Man’s Ear Was Bit Off During Fight
It’s been 20 years since Mike Tyson bit off a chunk of Evander Holyfield’s ear during a WBA Heavyweight Championship fight. The memories are distant, but the unconventional method of gnawing off body parts to win a fight is still fresh. That’s why police are reportedly investigating UMass’ Phi Sigma Kappa.
Phi Sigma Kappa is on interim restriction as a result of a late night fight that broke out after a party on Sept. 10 that left an 18-year-old Easthampton resident severely injured. Diovanni Aquino of Easthampton claims he was tackled to the ground by a man who gnawed off part of his ear in a fight as people were leaving that party at Phi Sigma Kappa. At around 2:30 a.m., a nearby police officer spotted Aquino and called an ambulance.
We’ve said it before: Being a total psychopath. TFM. Chewing off someone’s ear certainly qualifies. You win again, America.
I don’t care how that must’ve hurt, that victim now has an incredible story to tell his friends. “Yeah, I was leaving this party and *BAM* this dude just throws me to the ground and chews off this chunk of my ear.” The best stories are when someone gets severely injured but still survives. That’s why I still make fun of my friend who got hit by a semi. Shit is hilarious. Also, sorry about your ear, bruh.
Unfortunately, it appears the ear-biting incident will land the fraternity in a bit of trouble. The house has been placed on interim suspension for the time being, and it wouldn’t be totally shocking if some more punishment was handed down. I feel like this matter could be resolved with an actual boxing match between the two parties, fraternity house with the home field advantage though, of course. Winner decides punishment. Maybe? I don’t know. I guess you just can’t bite a dude’s ear off and get away with it anymore in this day and age. Times have changed..
