To the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha at the University of Arizona, Chino is more than just a house chef. The brothers consider him one of their own, and the feeling is mutual. Chino often reminds the brothers that the PIKE house is his “[home] away from home” and that cooking for them is “the best job he’s ever had.”

But recently, Chino has fallen on hard times. The past couple of weeks, he has been to the emergency room twice with excruciating pain and swelling in his head. Despite the painful illness, Chino continues to cook in his home away from home, insisting that he feed his boys. Chino needs to see a neurologist to diagnose the severe problem, but cannot afford the medical bills.

To help their unofficial brother, the Gamma Delta chapter created a GoFundMe page to raise money for his medical bills. So far, they’ve raised $1,290 from 42 people in 11 days. With your generosity, they hope to reach their goal of $2,000 so Chino can get the attention he needs.

Help the brothers give back to the man who has given so much to them by donating HERE.

Hang in there, Chino.

You don’t think there may be a separate donation coming from the chapter’s actives?

Why would they go through the trouble of donating to a gofundme when they can hand a 20 to the treasurer at chapter

Alright gofundme has to be the laziest way to raise money. Don’t get me wrong, all the causes are good but do more than make a gofundme like the chapter that put on a 5k with gofundme as an option for people that can’t make it. $2000/100+ actives is a $20 assessment. If they can’t work that into their budget for someone they claim to treat like they’re brother I don’t even know man

You have a valid point. Today’s college student are the laziest people on the planet when it comes to working for anything besides grades.

Have you considered that maybe the money would be on top of what the actives already donated themselves? And with the urgency it doesn’t seem like they can just have a 5k, which takes a few weeks to plan.

His job may not have the best income, but I can only imagine the amount of blunts and shots Chino gets in exchange for making snacks at 3 in the morning.

As his employer, maybe PIKE could take care of their employee-brother and include health insurance next year.
