University Of Dayton Student Graduates College Just Months After Getting Struck By Lightning And Almost Dying

University of Dayton alumnus Sean Ferguson’s road to graduation was anything but ordinary. In April, Sean was walking across a parking lot on campus when he was struck by lightning. He would’ve likely died had it not been for a passing CPR-certified student who spotted him. Sean’s life was saved, but he wasn’t out of the woods yet.

From CBS Pittsburgh:

He had burns on more than 35 percent of his body and was unconscious in the hospital, but one night after a family prayer, he regained consciousness.

The road to recovery was long and arduous. He underwent painful skin grafts and his jaw was wired shut after an operation.

Sean had to undergo rehabilitation to learn how to walk again, but he fought for his life and, eight months later, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

If all this happened to me, my schoolwork would be so low on my priority list that graduating college would be put on the backburner. Kudos to Sean for staying so motivated.

I love when stories are so inspiring that they make me feel like a huge piece of shit. It’s a real reality check. Sean had to relearn how to walk and graduated college just eight months later? Eight months after I learned how to walk the first time I was still shitting my pants and eating pennies from my mom’s purse. I imagine I would be around the same place if I had to try and do it again.

Congrats, Sean.

You don’t have a word that sticks out like “Kegatron” in your username. You will never be a successful troll. Good day to you and your other account “ThatBrit”.
