Thoroughbreds that are bred for racing are 99% of the time named upon birth/close to birth, and can not be renamed through the Jockey Club. If you met this slampiece last year, the colt/filly would only be a year old. Thoroughbreds start racing EARLIEST at two years old. Therefore, I call a bluff. Nice try.
hey dick head, you do realize you can own a thoroughbred that was bred to just be a fucking thoroughbred and doesn’t have to race don’t you? when my little sister wanted a dachshund my dad didn’t say, “oh no we cant get you a dachshund honey, dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers, and we don’t have a badger problem”. he went and bought her a dachshund. why don’t you think before commenting.
In the context of the TFM, it was a “fast slampiece”. Which to me was a direct relationship to racing. Maybe I assumed, but the way in which the TFM was written, I doubt I assumed wrong.
I own Thoroughbreds that I use NOT for racing, and in a sport where they need to be “slow” and supple. But ALL of which were bred for racing, and just weren’t fast enough to make more than a few grand. There are so many unwanted Thoroughbreds, that MOST breeders don’t breed them for uses other than racing (for the sheer fact that you can get a Thoroughbred for free from the track and train it to do whatever you want, its a risky business). So your dachshund argument is useless.
Actually, more than half of newborn racehorses aren’t named until after they turn 2, not “99%”. Know what you’re talking about before you start posting false facts.
False.
