Not sure about BHO, but Presidents from G.W. Bush through Reagan all wore Allen Edmonds during their inaugurations.
For me, nothing beats Allen Edmond quality and customer service. They really go to the ends of the earth for their patrons.
One small caveat: I go to Alden if I want a shoe in shell. Even with their hit-or-miss quality control and complete lack of customer service, their shell cordovan shoes are simply superior to those of AE.
J&M is worse than Allen Edmonds unless it’s the Aristocraft line where it’s the same quality. But for the Aristocraft line’s price, Alden’s are much nicer.
