FDR was a communist. He should have let Patton take over the USSR. he also tried packing the supreme court, passed social security and tried to pass a second bill of rights to include housing, food and healthcare.
Y’all are kidding me right? FDR was a great American who implemented measures that helped his countries economy get back on track while fighting a world war, all from a wheel chair. Let us not forget that the great also started through the administrations of two Republicans (Harding and Coolidge).
Did your liberal professors tell you that? The only thing that got this country back on track after the war was the fact that we were the only country left who had manufacturing and didn’t have to rebuild cities. FDR implemented massive “make work’ projects where public money was taken at a 90% tax rate and redistributed to Tennessee. It is like taking a bucket of water from one end of the pool and dumping it into another.
The Austrian economists (Shiff, Friedman, Hayek, Hazlitt) all feel that FDR prolonged the depression by racking up massive debts and crushing tax rates. The Austrian school also predicted the housing bubble, the devaluing of our dollar and the failure of the stimulus packages in 2008.
You should stop getting your news from Paul Krugman and the NYT op ed page
FDR died before both VE and VJ day. Almost all of his implemented programs were deemed unconstitutional, and wartime spending was the reason we got out of the great depression. Read a fucking book.

14 years ago at 4:55 pmRising taxes to 90% for the riches Americans did not help the economy. In fact many economist debate that the “new deal” prolonged the depression.
