VIDEO: Joel Klatt Compares College Football Committee To ENRON
Fresh off his most recent rant last week, Joel Klatt is at it again. To put it bluntly, he is HOT about how the new rankings have shaken out. He goes as far as to say the College Football Playoff committee is cooking the books.
"I think the (CFP) committee is basically cooking the books like Enron" – @joelklatt brings it. #TheHerd

I mean, OU did technically have the highest jump in the standings (outside of UNC and Houston) after their road win against a good Baylor team. I will say this, however — the committee leader, Jeff Long, had said before that they forgave Stanford’s road loss to Northwestern because of the early start time on the East Coast. If they can forgive a team for having to travel and play so early, then they can easily forgive OU for a loss to their most heated rival in Texas.
I think I’ve found out the reason as to why Klatt is so loony in the head.
Yup, that’ll do it. Can’t wait to see what he says next week..

Tarheels are best team in the Nation.

10 years ago at 9:10 pmMotion to get rid of the committee and use BCS rankings for the top 4 teams.
10 years ago at 12:23 pmSeconded
10 years ago at 1:34 pm6 team playoff (top two teams getting byes) would solve most of this
10 years ago at 12:35 pmYou got the right idea
10 years ago at 2:14 pmhow about an 8 team playoff. the conference champion from all 5 power conferences, then the committee chooses 3 at large bids. Then nobody can bitch about not getting in….”should have won your conference”
10 years ago at 10:55 pmWell the PAC 12 has a solid probability of getting a 3 loss champ this year. If a team loses more than 1 game in any conference, they should not be able to play for the national title. 6 teams allows for all 5 conferences to have their fair chance for a spot and it would also give a non power 5 such as Houston this year to have a real chance for a spot. But I have a feeling if the playoff gets expanded, ESPN will make pushes for sometimes 3 teams from the SEC to be in and that’s ridiculous.
10 years ago at 4:08 pmJoel Klatt gets it
10 years ago at 1:48 pmI would personally love to see the FBS adopt a playoff system identical to what the FCS has. it would give conference champions from non power 5 conferences the opportunity to compete for the national title regardless of their record. the problem is that there is so much money involved in the bowl business. i think there are at least 40 bowl games for this off season which is essentially a participation trophy joke.
10 years ago at 2:11 pmShits getting political. ESPN is in bed with the committee so they don’t talk trash on how terrible they are. Fox is once again the one true voice for the anti liberal anti committee gentlemen of the world
