Watch #2 NFL Draft Pick Luke Joeckel Get Smoked By A FIJI During The Traditional Ring Dunk
Texas A&M University is arguably one of the most tradition-rich schools in the country. Some of the traditions are bizarre (they don’t walk on much of the grass on campus), but some are actually pretty legit, like the Ring Dunk. So, how does this ring dunk work? It’s customary for students to pick up his or her class ring on Ring Day, and before sliding it on they head to a local bar and drop them in a 32 oz. mug of beer. As I understand it, class rings are a pretty big deal at Texas A&M. Virtually every student opts to purchase one.
Before wearing the rings, they will have to chug — or sip if you’re a total creepfuck — the beer until the ring hits his or her lips. This is usually done among a large gathering of friends and family.
It was Luke Joeckel’s turn to ring dunk recently, as his college days are now behind him. Luke was a 3-year starter at left tackle for the Aggies, and he was drafted number two overall in the 2013 NFL Draft. Luke’s a big boy, but as you’re about to see, Luke can’t chug with A&M’s finest.
Per the YouTube description:
A&M FIJI (far left) races his best buds Matt (middle) and Luke Joeckel (far right) in the classic tradition known as ring dunking. Needless to say everyone was surprised at the outcome.
I think you got some on your shirt there, pal.

13 years ago at 4:42 pmIts a full pitcher, I think by buddy’s was 54-64 oz
Love this article. Just two corrections though. As a current student at A&M I can tell you that we do walk on all of our grass. The only place we don’t walk on the grass is in front of our Memorial Student Center out of respect for the Ags who have died serving our country. And also the ring dunk is done in 60oz pitchers.
