Iowa State’s final NCAA Basketball Tournament game wasn’t an appealing contest. They closed out their season by losing to the University of Virginia by 13 points. While it’s great and all that they managed to take their mediocre four-seed placement so far into the tourny, you always hope to conclude an otherwise solid season with a not-so-shitty defeat.

Misery loves company, and what better company to share the misery of a shitty performance than the cheerleading squad. With about 2:14 left in the game, an errant pass deflected off the foot of Iowa State guard, Matt Thomas. The deflection rerouted the ball from the awaiting hands of UVA’s London Perrantes and directly into the startled face of a Cyclone cheerleader. It looked a little like this.

The precision of the kick is startling. She didn’t have a chance.

Here’s a full video of the incident.

Despite the waterworks, she survived her encounter and let the world know that she was still breathing and still hot.

Thank God.
