Weird Techie Cruise Uses College Kids For Their Sex Appeal

Are you a hot college girl with a minimal understanding of the tech revolution and four months to kill? If you answered yes, then “Unreasonable at the Sea might be the place for you. The concept, created by the founders of eleven different start-up companies, was to find a new, innovative way to spread technological ideas without being tied down to a single location.

“If TED talks and Google Labs copulated and spawned a cruise for the Facebook generation, Unreasonable at Sea would be the result.” New York Times

So what is your purpose on the cruise? According to the New York Times, college kids are essentially there to be eye candy. Hundreds of tech geeks gather to discuss web design, search engine optimization, brand development; only to take a break and watch you sunbathe.

Also on board, for sex appeal: 630 college students, who cracked open their textbooks while tanning poolside…On the pool deck, fresher 20-somethings braided one another’s hair, while Silicon Valley titans discussed user-interface design. Even the name of the program is obnoxious, referencing a George Bernard Shaw quote about unreasonable people taking over the world. There is nothing more nauseating than listening to a hipster explain how the new program he’s created will change the world.

If, for some reason, this cruise still appeals to you, sign-ups for college credit are still available. But be warned, when you are in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea listening to “cool new app ideas,” you’re going to want to cover yourself in chum and jump to the sharks.
