World’s Worst Driver Hits Cyclist and Tweets About it

I have minimal credibility when it comes to judging others by their driving ability, especially since I still don’t know how to park my new car. I just found out what cruise control is, and I’ve been driving since I was 17. It took me a year to actually pass my driver’s test. As terrible as I may be behind the wheel, it’s comforting to know there is someone out there who is a far worse driver than I am.

21-year-old Emma Way from the UK was driving in Norwich when she hit a cyclist and then drove away. Way could have gotten away with her hit and run (which is terrible) if she hadn’t TWEETED about it.

Way’s tweet (she’s since deleted her account) read: “Definitely knocked a cyclist off his bike earlier – I had the right of way and he doesn’t even pay road tax! #bloodycyclists.”

The tweet was RT’ed by furious citizens who wanted Emma to be held accountable for her actions. The cyclist she hit, Toby Hockley, came forward. Eventually, Emma was reprehended by Norwich police. Emma wanted to make it clear, “it was a spur of the moment thing and I’m sorry. I don’t want any cyclist to think I have hatred against them.”

Emma, I don’t think the fact you might hate cyclists is the issue here. I think it’s an issue that one, you’re clearly an awful driver, and two, YOU SENT A TWEET ABOUT COMMITTING A CRIME. That’s akin to me tweeting “Just slashed my ex boyfriend’s tires. SUCK IT, STEVE!” Obviously, that would be stupid, and would be proof that I committed a crime.

We can all agree that pedestrians, cyclists, and fucking longboarders are the enemy when you’re behind the wheel, but you have to be an idiot to hit one…and an even bigger idiot to hit one and then drive away. How the hell did this girl not even think to stop after knocking someone off of his bike? Oh, maybe she was too busy tweeting. I get it now.

What a fucking idiot.
