Colin Cowherd Says The SEC Is Bullshit
If you missed it, Colin Cowherd listed his top four playoff teams as Clemson, OU, Michigan State, and Ohio State. Bama was missing, despite winning the SEC West. On his show today, Cowherd decided to call out the SEC altogether.
"The SEC is living totally off reputation" – @ColinCowherd on why Alabama isn't in his Top 4. #HerdHere

Hey, the CFB playoff committee puts a big emphasis on a conference title, so if Bama wins, they are in. Sorry, Colin. If Florida pulls off a massive upset on Saturday, then the SEC would most likely be left out. But let’s be real — that ain’t happening.
He also had a great line about Iowa on his show today.
Roasted..

This year the conferences are pretty similar. No real powerhouse, although Big 10 is best to me. In the current AP poll: (top 10) [25]: Big 10 (3) [6], ACC (4) [4], Pac12 (1) [4], big 12 (1) [4], SEC (1) [4]. Honestly only Clemson, Oklahoma, and Michigan State are obvious 1-3. You could argue Bama, Ohio State, Bama, or Stanford at #4 (or IA if 13-0).
10 years ago at 3:23 pmNotre Dame instead of one of those Bamas
10 years ago at 3:24 pmTo say Bama isn’t an obvious playoff lock, you’re crazy.
10 years ago at 3:31 pmWhy? They’ve played one team currently ranked in the top 20, they lost to that team, and that team lost to fucking Memphis
10 years ago at 5:47 pmI still think Bama is good enough for the top four. We’ll see once the playoffs start.
10 years ago at 12:24 amWhat team in the top 4 played the most teams with winning records?
10 years ago at 4:14 pmWhat team in the top 4 had a schedule of teams with the best win percentage?
You guessed it Alabama. And those teams Bama played had to play each other. That’s a heck of a lot of out of conference wins. Do the math.
Regardless if you like Colin or not, he should know not to fuck with those rednecks in Tuscaloosa. They’ll come and take your landscaping out.
10 years ago at 3:36 pmThe only thing I like about Colin is he doesn’t advertise “40% off all rowdy gentleman tees for cyber monday!” Because I could not possibly care less.
10 years ago at 3:43 pmBeing rewarded because of reputation. TFM
10 years ago at 3:50 pmFuck you Colin
10 years ago at 4:02 pmWould you say it one more time?
10 years ago at 5:54 pmNo draft able qb… Obviously hasn’t watched Chad Kelly play
10 years ago at 4:18 pmOr Brandon Allen lately. He’s been picking apart defenses, but then again he has Dan Enos as his OC.
10 years ago at 11:53 pmwho the fuck would want the last name cowheard
10 years ago at 4:25 pmHe should have picked a better last name like you did.
10 years ago at 4:30 pmHe makes some valid points but how can he defend Iowa? Take a look at their schedule, the best team they played was northwestern
10 years ago at 4:44 pmIowa blew out #13 Northwestern, beat #25 Wisconsin, and a Nebraska team that beat Michigan State. In comparison, Bama beat #23 LSU and #25 Wisconsin, and lost to #16 Ole Miss. (AP poll).
10 years ago at 5:30 pmAlabama has beaten 6 teams with at least 8 wins, while Ohio State has beaten 1 and Iowa has beaten 2. I think that’s a pretty big difference
10 years ago at 5:37 pmHe also said that Nebraska would beat Iowa and called Iowa a bunch of frauds. See how that worked out for him.
10 years ago at 11:20 pmAs much as you SEC suck dicks bitch and say how retarded he is, you know he has a point.
10 years ago at 5:23 pmThe truth will come out next year when multiple SEC team who will be preseason top 15 by default actually play good non-conference games. It’s the first time it has ever happened on that scale. Clemson/Auburn, Bama/USC, Ole Miss/FSU, LSU/Wisconsin, UCLA/Texas A&M, Mizzou/WV, and Georgia/UNC. ALL in week 1. It’s like Christmas. Finally the SEC wont dodge tough games early while other power 5’s schedule each other and knock each other out in the rankings allowing overrated SEC teams to condense their rankings down to the point where every loss is to a “top 15 team” which prevents the losing team from actually dropping out of the rankings. Good fucking riddance.
10 years ago at 9:11 pmIf you believe they will cleanse the reputation of the sec then they need to really straighten up and perform to their potential, it wasn’t the best year for the sec in 2015.
10 years ago at 11:10 pmThe SEC could run the table in those matchups next year and quiet down the haters. Or they could split… or they could embarrass themselves. No matter what happens, that kind of parody in week one is so great for college football and the results will hopefully put each conference and team into a more accurate perspective to kick off the year. I’m just glad it’s finally happening. Look at what happened when South Carolina was preseason #9 last year and got crushed at home against and average A&M team in week 1? Shit, Kenny Hill was a fucking Heisman candidate after that performance and was benched weeks later. That’s how skewed everyone’s perspective was. A&M took their new #9 ranking back into the SEC West and spread the overrated wealth by losing a lot…So then the year comes to an end and the Mississippi schools got their shit pushed in in big bowl games, and LSU, Auburn, and Bama lost as well. Their overrated-ness was exposed in bowl week and it was all because of a criminal preseason #9 South Carolina ranking. That kind of shit will solve itself next year right off the bat..finally.
10 years ago at 11:28 pmIt’s funny cuz South Carolina (worst team of the SEC) beat (11-1) UNC and came 5 points from beating Clemson. That is what SEC depth is and why going 11-1 in the SEC is impressive. Because even the worst teams have the talent and ability to hang with any team in any given game. Just ask the two division leaders of the ACC (Clemson & UNC). If even UNC lost to the SEC’s worst team and Clemson only won by 5, the idea that wither of those teams could have gone without more than 1 loss in the SEC is fucking insane
10 years ago at 1:46 pmThat can be said about any team, Michigan was supposed to steamroll Minnesota and it came down to shitty play calling and clock management to win it, an SEC team that beat bama should have crushed Memphis but didn’t, it’s the greatest part of sports that any team any day can potentially pull off an upset
10 years ago at 2:25 pmDepth, huh? I already explained in an appropriate and logical manner how Clemson’s win at USCjr was not as close as it looked. And yes, UNC lost 17-13 at South Carolina despite 3 Marquise Williams INT’s at the SC 21, 8, and 6 yard lines. 3 end zone picks. That is an absolute anomaly and the committee looks into that shit. Even Spurrier was laughing and shaking his head after that one. That didn’t give the coots or the SEC credit and it clearly didn’t discredit UNC in the eyes of people who actually watch these games on film and rank teams.
10 years ago at 8:03 pmSec > ACC bruh
10 years ago at 1:03 pmYeah dude it’s fucking football, shit happens. If UNC didn’t suck balls they wouldn’t have thrown so many picks. Stop arguing results, my shitty gamecocks gave UNC the dick and almost gave Clemson the dick too. The ACC is not sick
10 years ago at 3:25 pmI will say Oklahoma has also ridden their reputation for years, having top 5 preseason rankings almost every season. Im a Sooner, and I think they were paying homage to the has beens, because they fell from those top rankings year after year. Bob Stoops would underdeliver. Just because Oklahoma has historically been the top dog for a long time, doesnt mean they shouldn’t earn their seat at the table. OU has been hated on and shunned a lot lately, maybe its time the SEC caught some of that heat. There is so much blatant dick sucking on the bandwagon of TV every year, that teams need to be evaluated fairly and weighed according to their strengths and weaknesses. We’ll see how the CFP shakes out, Oklahoma finally has that heart and desire to win again. My bet is they take it all this year
10 years ago at 9:36 pmFuck the SEC
