Ole Miss Football Might Be In Some Deep Shit

Just before National Signing Day, the University of Mississippi athletics department was hit with some allegations of NCAA infractions. The general thought amongst my friends on Facebook who attended the university, as well as those around the nation, was that they would not affect the football team at all since they were not done under Hugh Freeze.

Well, turns out that they might be wrong. A person close to the investigation spoke to the Associated Press about the situation.

The person said Tuesday that 13 allegations involve the football program, and nine of those occurred during current coach Hugh Freeze’s tenure. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

Some of them have already been self-reported by the school. Of those 13 allegations, some are considered to be of the level I variety. The NCAA considers those violations to be the most severe infractions.

It’ll be interesting to see what comes of this for the Rebels.

    Most of those level 1’s are probably tired to Tunsil, and that had already been reported and dealt with. We’ll see where this goes, but I do believe this is probably still being blown out of proportion.
