Ole Miss Football Might Be In Some Deep Shit

Just before National Signing Day, the University of Mississippi athletics department was hit with some allegations of NCAA infractions. The general thought amongst my friends on Facebook who attended the university, as well as those around the nation, was that they would not affect the football team at all since they were not done under Hugh Freeze.
Well, turns out that they might be wrong. A person close to the investigation spoke to the Associated Press about the situation.
The person said Tuesday that 13 allegations involve the football program, and nine of those occurred during current coach Hugh Freeze’s tenure. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.
Some of them have already been self-reported by the school. Of those 13 allegations, some are considered to be of the level I variety. The NCAA considers those violations to be the most severe infractions.
It’ll be interesting to see what comes of this for the Rebels..

Come on TFM. Ole miss is the frat star of universities. I would think your distinguished publication would not be so quick to jump on the pearl of frattiness, Aka ole miss.
There are 13 football violations in the ncaa letter to ole miss.
4 violations involving current staff are minor infractions, some of which are now allowed, like paying for hotels for family members during recruiting trips.
4 other football violations are from the Houston Nutt era.
That leaves 5 football violations (for you math wizards). Those 5 all involve tunsil, and all of them were self reported by ole miss, and none involve ole miss’ staff. Ole miss suspended their best player (tunsil) for half of the season in his final year at school – a very harsh self imposed penalty.
None of the violations are directly related to freeze, and none involve treadwell or nkemdiche.
There will be no post season bans or anything else substantial.
That is all.
