We Now Live In A World Where College Kids Are Offended At America And Uncle Sam
Well, it’s finally happened: College campuses are now offended at America and Uncle Sam. Ramapo College (if you have heard of it before today, points to you) was all set to throw an “American BBQ” until outrage forced them to change the theme to something else. Ariana Rivera, the assistant residence director of Bischoff Hall, originally planned for campus Republicans and campus Democrats to co-sponsor the event in an email to them on August 17th.
However, two days before the event, Rivera had to deliver the bad news that the theme of America had to be changed to just a standard BBQ because the administration deemed it offensive. When someone asked the question everyone else is asking right now, “How can an American theme be considered offensive?,” she responded with the following explanation.

“To be honest, I’m not sure. I think it was administrative,” Rivera replied. “I was told that our advertising was too ‘military and recruitment-oriented,’ because we had the Uncle Sam saying ‘I want you…’ I think? However, we saw other posters with that same idea, so I really don’t know.”
What? How? Now I’ve officially seen it all, folks. I think it may be time to pack it up and officially call it quits. There is nothing sacred in this world anymore. Everything causes offense. Soon enough, waking up is going to offend people who are in comas. Ramapo saying America is offensive isn’t going to help the reputation of New Jersey either, in my opinion.
The event went on as planned with its new theme and no Uncle Sam, but they made to sure to predominantly display the American flag at the event..
