BeerMe, you sound like too big of a pussy to go do it yourself. Do the world a favor; go lock yourself in a room and fist-fuck yourself while young Americans (like myself) risk their lives so you can have the freedom that you have.
Let’s see you could be stuck in the desert with a bunch of GDIs and sandpeople and be poor the rest of your life as well as have a chance of dying or stay in the America make tons of money, slam women and drink beer. You made the wrong choice. You are a prime example of the Texas education system.
If I am not mistaken, and I am usually not, until the officer is a captain they will be making sub 6 figures. I mean, that is if they follow a natural progression and they do not miss a promotion board. Then after they reach major they really aren’t flying often anymore because they are a field grade officer and are more concerned with the big operations and tactics. That was longer than intended.
Who gives a fuck? They make 6 soon enough, and, friggin blowing up small brown people in the name of freedom is FAF, even if the chair force only has like 7 pilots.
That is true, air force really doesn’t have many jets anymore. Now if he was a navy pilot and we were talking about Top Gun or something that would be a different story. But, I was referring to the comments saying it was a dumb idea and giving him shit in general. If the man says hes a jet pilot then I trust he is an honest fraternity man and is in fact a jet pilot. I wouldn’t call a mechanic getting lucky.
Well this post is bullshit. If you’re right about the Navy then he would have to have had the highest scores in the Naval Academy to even get a chance to be a fighter pilot. No one gets a bachelors somewhere then says I want to be a fighter pilot.
It’s like the tools that leave posts on here like “Turning down VP job to be a SEAL or Green Beret Officer in the Army.” They are full of shit. This goes to show the intern doesn’t know a damn thing about the Armed Forces.
^PLC program, BDCP program and good ole fashion submission of an officer’s packet. Yes, people do “just get bachelor’s and become fighter pilots.” Typical Army, not knowing anything about anything.
Fuckin’ a, I know a shitload of people who graduated from my flight school who went into the services to fly for them. As a matter of fact, we have all branches in our classrooms recruiting a few times a semester for their flight programs AFTER graduation from our aeronautical science program. So all of this (^^ArmyMustang) is bullshit.
You guys are right about flight school, but are you telling me that anyone with a bachelors can easily become a fighter pilot? No, just no. This guy’s post was insinuating that he was the typical get a degree in ____ , got a job offer from dad, but decided to take “much less” being a pilot at time where everyone is downsizing their jets. If you really think the Navy or Airforce are hiring new pilots you’re very mistaken. He’ll be in AZ piloting drones if this post is factual by any means.
I’m guessing 15A if you are an officer… and the army only has helicopters, mustang has been gone for a while (unless you are talking about the slang for an enlisted becoming an officer but I doubt you are so I will continue with the first assumption). I know aviation is the biggest bunch of cocky pretty boys out of all the Army but you probably know absolute shit about the other branches. They are moving towards drones but the Navy has and will have more fighter jets than the Air Force. Maybe if you came from a military background you would understand that. There is also no major you have to take to become any specific mos, you should know that if your Aviation. We aren’t on the brink of phasing out fighter jets so I ask you again kindly sir to STFU and sit the fuck down. No one in the armed forces should shit on one another (beyond friendly joking and rivalry, beat Navy) because if you were a fraternity man you would know that the armed forces is the largest brotherhood in America. It would BEHOOVE you to stop trying to fuck your brothers-in-arms in the ass and then you would be able to stop covering your own ass. Fuck I need a beer.
My friend is an Aerospace Engineer at a school not the Naval Academy. He has a seat waiting for him in the navy flight school when he graduates. That being said, it is ridiculously competitive to get one of those spots. You have to be at the very top, and most likely know some people in the Navy to get a seat in flight school.
Rattle it does mean enlisted from officer. And if you read what I said correctly I didn’t denounce anyone who went from flight school to becoming a fight jet pilot. But if you’re going to tell me that someone without flight experience that just got a degree has a chance to be a fighter pilot then you sir are an idiot. Yeah you said artillery right? Don’t even think that your training (most likely in OK) puts you on the same level as a Green Beret. Artillery, just another outdated part of the army being downsized.
^^ You must be joking. I doubt people are coming on here for validation, if they are it is no more than the MASSES of people coming on here looking for validation because they wear sperrys and drink 18 year old scotch (not that I don’t, but I digress). Don’t think your frattyness is greater than the frattyness of your fellow fraternity men in arms. Also, TakeALap, I appreciate the lighthearted sarcasm.
Infantry talks shit till we have to put steel balls where the queen wants them. We’re called the king of battle for a reason. We can shoot as well as you can from miles and miles away. Anyone can learn flanking tactics through repetition, but I dare you tough infantry cats to pick up a TFT/GST and even attempt to do some high angle illumination safety. Don’t talk shit if you don’t know what you’re up against, sport. Go ahead. Thumb through FM 6-40, and take careful note of chapters three and fifteen. Don’t worry, we’ll wait.
Slapping and hazing Injured soldiers in the military hospitals, telling them to man up. FaF. “Patton was the scariest mother fucking hazer of the military.”(Patton, Nat Geo).
There might be one military TFM to every 100 about someone being a dumbass. If that 1 offends you that much, maybe you should reevaluate just how much respect you actually have.
It’s not the fact that the TFM is about serving our country, every true American respects that. However, 99% of people enlisting are not giving up a six figure salary.
^this. I would rather read a TFM like this than a tired, overdone one about how many wristbands a guy woke up with in the morning or how many different slams he bangs per weekend.
Sounds like dumb idea.
14 years ago at 8:13 pmhey dip shit, why don’t you do something useful with your life

14 years ago at 2:33 amWhen did this site become anti-military? Two very nf comments. You take the air brother I’ll take the ground with my paladin and 155 howitzer.
14 years ago at 8:27 pmThis^
14 years ago at 8:28 pmI don’t think anyone is being anti-American, but I call bullshit on this.
We’re downsizing fighter-jets and enlarging our drone capabilities.
No one graduates from college and then chooses to be a fighter jet pilot anyways. If this guys lucky he’ll be a mechanic on one of those jets.
14 years ago at 8:38 pm*anti-military. Fuck laps.

14 years ago at 10:46 amChaying did they become fighter jet pilots? And you also said flight school.
And southernrooted, if you serve at all and knew what my MOS was you’d shut your mouth. Probably just some navy or airforce fairy.
14 years ago at 10:49 amI’m guessing 15A if you are an officer… and the army only has helicopters, mustang has been gone for a while (unless you are talking about the slang for an enlisted becoming an officer but I doubt you are so I will continue with the first assumption). 14 years ago at 9:16 pm-Gen George S. Patton
Patton, FaF!
14 years ago at 10:16 pmHow can the artillery tell the war if they’re shooting at points miles away called in by the infantry? 11 Bravo, bro.
